Hand Washing Day

October 15, 2014In order to spread awareness about the importance of hand washing the SLO® organized many activities for grades 1 to 6. The event purposely coincided with the Global Hand Washing Day. Several bulletin boards were designed to spread the message about the importance of keeping hands clean in order to reduce germs and diseases
The students were divided in several groups with different tasks. While some prefects were explaining to their schoolmates the necessary information about hand washing, another group was helping students write ideas or quotes about the importance of hand washing on small hand-shaped papers and hanging them on a big tree. A third group was coloring papers about hand washing and the fourth group was taking photos and selfies with their hands open to show how clean they were.
It was a great day. The students were excited to participate in all the activities and to learn while having fun.

ISC Koura's rock and roll down memory lane “Black and White: a blast from the past” concert was held on the evening of Wednesday, December 17, 2014. Engaging participating students from Grades 4-12, and performed upon a tastefully conceived, 2 – tiered, black- draped, luminous set, the show featured a nostalgic concoction that included up-beat dance, Lebanese patriotic flag- wavers, and timeless classics from such musical icons as Elton John, Um Kolthoum, Abdel Halim Hafez, and the late, great Whitney Houston. A truly rousing end to the year, and a mouth-watering taste of what hopefully awaits in 2015!

I have definitely learnt a lot. This camp has been truly life changing. One learns a whole new way of looking at life. It has been purely inspirational. I definitely loved the positive vibe. I learnt how one positive person can make a huge difference.
How each of us affect the people around us. It takes one person's positive attitude bring a better change in the society.I will definitely try my best to bring a positive change around me by my attitude.I will make sure to spread my new found among students, teachers, administrators and even parties external to our school.
