The Dental Day event at AISW School for our KG students was a delightful and educational experience. The SLO organized an engaging play, capturing the attention of the young learners and enjoyably imparting valuable dental hygiene lessons. Alongside the play, various interactive activities were arranged, promoting the importance of oral health in a fun and accessible manner.

Adding a touch of enchantment to the day, the SLO surprised the children with a visit from the Tooth Fairy herself, played by one of our dedicated SLO members. The excitement and joy on the kids' faces were priceless as they interacted with the magical character, fostering a positive association with dental care.

Overall, it was a wonderfully fun and heartwarming day that not only entertained but also instilled crucial lessons about maintaining good oral hygiene among our KG students.

Diabetes Awareness Day

Abdulaziz International Schools - Al-Sulaimaniah, Riyadh

November 23, 2023

Diabetes mellitus, often known simply as diabetes, is a group of common endocrine diseases characterized by sustained high blood sugar levels. Diabetes is due to either the pancreas not producing enough insulin, or the cells of the body becoming unresponsive to the hormone's effects. World Diabetes Day is commemorated as an opportunity to raise awareness about the impact of diabetes on the health of people and to highlight the opportunities to strengthen the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diabetes.

In our school, World Diabetes Day was memorialized on the 23rd of November.

Students wore blue shirts, the official color for diabetes awareness. During the first recess, a version of the show “The Drs.” was carried out by our Student Life Coordinator, Mr. Mohamad Chatila, in which he discussed diabetes and got students to talk about their own experiences with diabetes. Mr. Chatila then passed by Grade 4 classes to discuss what diabetes is, what the symptoms are, and how to prevent it.

All in all, the event was a success and every single student in the school learned something new about diabetes.

“We want to thank the Wellness Department for raising awareness about such an important cause.” – Grade 7 students
