The yearly talent show is a staple event at SIS-Adma. Having to transition into an online school was not going to alter that. Students auditioned, rehearsed and performed in the online talent show so that they could share their wonderful talents with their peers and bring joy to all those who watched.
On April 27, grade 4-6 students finally had the opportunity to experience a familiar event: the talent show. Despite it being online, there was still a lot of details to cover, from auditions to weekly rehearsals, but it was definitely worth it. It is the event of the year that all students and teachers look forward to, where the artists and creators of tomorrow are born. The end result was 10 participants with a wide range of talents. The final group consisted of three piano players, four dancers, two singers, and the one and only magician.
From fun magic tricks to playing the piano, each participant was unique in expressing his/her talent. It is well known that dancing is one of the most effective ways to convey one’s sentiments by creating the choreography of one’s dreams. Each dance was diverse and varied from hip-hop to contemporary dance, but they all had one thing in common, they left us mesmerized. Others gave voice to their talents through singing, and blew us away with their flawless performances. Our two powerful singers showed extreme potential for the future.
When I first auditioned for the talent show, I was slightly nervous. However, when the music started, I just danced! After I found out that I had made it past the auditions, I was really proud of myself. We had many practice sessions with Ms. Suzanne and Mr. Elie. They helped us with the setup, the music, and most importantly gave us great advice. Also, Ms. Christina, the SLC, would come to encourage us in every way she could. I truly appreciate all of the effort and love they put into this so that we could have the most successful online talent show. Lama Jerdak – Grade 6
