NGO Fair
SABIS® International School - Adma, Lebanon
January 17, 2025As part of the SABIS culture, we encourage our students to find ways to give back to the community through the school and on their own. The purpose of the fair is to raise awareness among various NGOs and provide volunteer opportunities within the organizations. Gaining real-world work experience through volunteering is an excellent way for students to build skills, give back, and make a difference in their community.
NGOs set up stations on campus, and grade 9-12 students passed by the booths to gather information on how they could volunteer and help these various NGOs. We tried to include NGOs that have different causes: environmental, health, social, and mental health.
We are truly grateful and honored that SWIM was invited to participate in the SIS-Adma NGO Fair, and even prouder to be among the preferred NGOs selected by the students themselves. I was highly impressed by the professionalism demonstrated by the students in organizing such an exceptional event, as well as their openness and eagerness to learn more about giving back and being part of the change. I hope this partnership, which we have nurtured over the past years, will serve as a cornerstone for even greater collaborations in the future. Wishing you and the SABIS management continued success in instilling such strong values and quality education in your students. Lisa Sofian, Co-Founder of SWIM Initiative Lebanon
On behalf of the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL), I would like to sincerely thank you for inviting us to participate in your first NGO fair. Being present among your students, raising awareness about childhood cancer, and informing them about our mission was truly a vital part of what we aim to achieve. We are immensely grateful for SIS-Adma’s continuous support over the years. It is heartwarming to see your unwavering passion for instilling essential values in your students at such a young age. As they are the future, their commitment to making a difference truly shines, and it is a privilege for us to be part of this incredible journey. Together, we can continue to create a meaningful impact. Aya Younes, Fundraising & Events Coordinator for the Children's Cancer Center of Lebanon
