Battle of the Artists

On Saturday 7^th March 2015 the SABIS Student Life Organization^®, in collaboration with the art department, hosted the Battle of Artists, an event where our own studnet artists compete, along with their fathers, to produce the best painting.

The event gathered a very large number of competitors, seventy to be exact. The father-son teams were requested to paint either an object provided by the school, or a subject of their choice; budding artists were cast into the limelight. Beautiful paintings of villages, people and even everyday subjects emerged on canvas.

After two hours of fun and work judges went around admiring the painitng that the teams had created and selected the winners.  Winning wasn't the best part of the day.  Rather it was the cooperation and team work that fathers and sons put together to contrbute to a work of art they will be proud of for a long time.

Encouraging Education

International School of Choueifat - Muscat

Grades 5 - 12

On Saturday, March 7, 2015, the International School of Choueifat-Muscat held an event aimed at raising funds for children who are unable to complete their education due to financial difficulties. Guests from the local community enjoyed a day packed with fun activities and food prepared by the students themselves. In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, all proceeds were donated to charities who, in turn, help fund children’s education.

The fundraising event is one of the many ways that students at ISC-Muscat learn the value and importance of giving back to their community and helping those who are less fortunate.

So You Think You Can Teach

Shadow Teaching has long been an integral fundamental part of the SABIS^® system. Our shadow Teachers possess an impressive ability to conduct lessons and convey information engraving the message in the minds of all students.

The academic department launched a shadow teaching week for grades 10-11, So You Think You Can Teach, with judges circulating among the classrooms grading each performance. Congratulations to our spectacular shadow teachers.

Bullying Prevention Campaign

International School of Choueifat - Choueifat

Grades 4 - 8

 On January 19^th, ISC- Choueifat students opened their eyes to the truth about bullying in all its different forms- physical, emotional, cyber, etc. –through a project organized by the Discipline Department.  The students  of grades 4,5,6,7 and 8 submitted artistic projects such as drawings and writings of their own creation, expressing the negativity of bullying and its horrible aspects. They realized that their strength depends greatly on how they approach and think about Bullying. This campaign brought a lot of clarity as to the dangers of the internet and the unintentional propagation of bullying sometimes.

The students posted their pictures, drawings and articles all around the playground’s bulletin boards, saying no to bullying.  Certificates were given to students’ with projects that had the most powerful message.
