Choose Healthy - Choose Compassion Art Exhibition
International School of Choueifat - Sharjah
Grade 2 to 12
September 13, 2015On Sunday the thirteenth of September, the outreach department held an art exhibition titled "Choose Healthy Choose Compassion Campaign"
In the days leading up to the event it got very busy organizing for this event and luckily plenty of help was offered by willing prefects. The art exhibit gave students the opportunity to come together and work collaboratively. The coordination and dedication that was put into the event paid off from the very opening of the art exhibition.
Various works of art were created by senior pupils and displayed around the SLO®. The art amounted to twenty four pieces in total on canvas, cardboard and posters. The theme of the work was anti-animal cruelty and each piece was executed with painstaking effort and dedication. In addition to the art itself, there was a stand that contained ‘Stray Care Packages’. Each package contained small containers of water, milk and dry food. The idea behind these was that each student would take a package and utilise it in a fashion that would benefit a stray animal.
Overall, the event was a tremendous success with most of the school coming to view the artwork. The art exhibit was also visited by our esteemed teachers. The artwork was displayed for another week after the event, with the SLO® open to all.

Treasure Hunt for New Students
Abdulaziz International School Al -Suleimaniah - Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
September 12, 2015The SABIS Student Life Organization® organized a treasure hunt for new students on Saturday 12th of September. The goal of this activity is to help new students adapt to their new environment, learn more about AIS, and make new friends.
The day started with an orientation session about the school and the SLO®; it was presented by our Head Prefect Mohamad Kassas and the Deputy Head Prefect of the Outreach department Siman Antar.
New students learned what SLO® is all about and how they can be part of it. They were introduced to the school rules and regulations and had a tour around the school premises. The presentation was followed by a treasure hunt, where students were divided into groups, and together they gathered a set of clues and performed tasks until they reached their final destination. You could see students running from one floor to another, aiming at becoming the first team to finish all the tasks!
After the treasure hunt new students along with their ambassadors enjoyed a brunch together in the SLO®

Preparing students for their Make-up exams in August
International Student of Choueifat - Lahore, Pakistan
Grades 5 - 11
August 15, 2015The Power Study Sessions were organized for a period of one week before the make-up exams in August.
Different subjects were covered over this week of preparation, ranging from Math to 3rd language. The power study week was a unique experience, both from a managerial standpoint and from a tutor's point of view. The week was impressive, not only by the amount of tutees attending these sessions, but by the number of tutors willing to volunteer some of their summer vacations to help fellow students. It was an empowering experience. The teachers were helpful and sincerely willing to help their students. The supervisors were there for us throughout the sessions, providing support. This was not only a show of SLO®'s resolve of being proactive, but also a perfect example of this year's theme: building relationships. It showed the potential in students and their cooperation throughout the year.
