Ask Me Anything

International School of Choueifat - Koura

Grades 9-12

February 06, 2015

In order to learn in a fun way, the ISC Koura SLO® Academic Department organized an academic event comprising a series of competitive quizzes titled “Ask Me Anything.”

Held during the SLO Period over a period of several weeks, the competition engaged 14 teams of 4 students each, all of whom were chosen from Grades 9-12. A student would spin a large wheel indicating one of 5 categories: sports, general knowledge, science, music and art. Questions relating to that category were then answered by the participants until an eventual winning team emerged.

Experiminta Science Center Trip

Internationale Schule Frankfurt

Grade 2

March 21, 2015

The SLO® Academics Department at ISF organized a field trip to the Experiminta Science Center in Frankfurt am Main, Germany for Grade 2 students.

Experiminta Science Center is a hands-on museum that has 120 experimental stations that invite students to play and explore while learning about science, mathematics, technology, and information science. Twenty-five Grade 2 students and their chaperones spent a fun and exciting afternoon at the museum. Some of the highlights included the giant bubble maker that enclosed students in a massive bubble, the human eyeball that showed students how vision works, and the chairs where they could hoist their body weight up through the use of pulleys and their own hands.

Students thoroughly enjoyed the field trip and expressed how much they learned while at the museum.

Spin 4 Math

International School of Choueifat - Amman

Grades 6

December 15, 2014

Based on the famous Television show "Wheel of Fortune" the Academic Department created a thrilling and educational contest “Spin4Math”.

Four teams of three students took turn in spinning a colored wheel to determine the category of the Math Question the team will receive. The categories ranged between Mental Math, Set Theory Questions, and Solving Equations. The catch was that if the spinning team answered wrong, the wheel will also decide which team can try and answer the same question and earn its points. This rule guaranteed that all teams try solving every single question.
