Leila C. Saad SABIS® School El-Metn

October 02, 2017

On Monday, October 2nd, 2017, Prefects from the Academic department organized a tutoring session for the newly selected shadow teachers from grades 1 till 11. The training, which was conducted by the Shadow Teachers TM Senior Prefects and Academic Head Prefect, helped the students understand methods of presenting material to others by focusing on four important areas: preparation, modeling, leadership, and commitment. During the session, the Shadow Teachers TM learned how to present a lesson using the SABIS® Point System®. The Shadow Teachers™ were then given the chance to practice and get feedback from the SLO® Prefects and their peers.

When it’s related to competition, students tend to overcome any obstacle hindering their path. This is how three teams overcame all hurdles to reach the final stage of the Grade 7 to 12 General Knowledge competition held by the Academic Dept. A wheel was, partly, the determining factor of the teams’ fate; Science, Geography, History, and Sports were on offer.

Teachers and students in the audience didn’t leave disappointed. They were cheering their teams and learning at the same time. The competition came down to a ‘tiebreaker’ question which shows the level of expertise all competing students had on that day.

“Congrats to the team that won!” Bisher Amer 11BB

“It was very nice that students had fun and benefited at the same time.” Mahmoud Toumar 11BB
