April 25, 2015On April 25th, 62 students from Grades 7-9 and their 6 teacher chaperones set off for a day of fun to Europa Park in Southeastern Germany organized by the SLO® Activities Department. Europa Park has over 100 attractions and shows, 11 roller coasters, and 13 European themed areas to be enjoyed. The weather was looking foreboding, but the buses set off at 8:00am from the school anyway. After arriving around 11:00, the students went in groups with chaperones to enjoy the day. Once in the park, students and chaperones were able to partake in all the park had to offer: rollercoasters, arcade games, and delicious food from all over Europe! Enduring a little bit of rain was worth it because the lines were so short. Two of the most popular rollercoasters were Silver Star and Blue Fire. With speeds of 143km/h, it is no wonder that the Silver Star had students riding it over and over again!

Bullying Prevention Campaign

All grades were involved in the much anticipated Bullying Prevention Campaign.
Students were encouraged to join by wearing blue garments to support bullying prevention. The students showed up to school wearing blue hats, scarfs and shirts to show they support the idea that bullying should be stopped. Thirteen students from grade 3 spoke to the students about bullying prevention. They explained to the students what types of bullying there is and how they can stop it from happening at our school.
