In order to get the students to demonstrate their love for Science, grades 3 to 9 students were given a month to prepare science experiments, projects or activities to showcase to the school.

A committee of science teachers visited each project, listened carefully to the students’ presentations and chose the winners.

Europa Park Trip

On April 25^th, 62 students from Grades 7-9 and their 6 teacher chaperones set off for a day of fun to Europa Park in Southeastern Germany organized by the SLO^® Activities Department. Europa Park has over 100 attractions and shows, 11 roller coasters, and 13 European themed areas to be enjoyed. The weather was looking foreboding, but the buses set off at 8:00am from the school anyway. After arriving around 11:00, the students went in groups with chaperones to enjoy the day. Once in the park, students and chaperones were able to partake in all the park had to offer: rollercoasters, arcade games, and delicious food from all over Europe! Enduring a little bit of rain was worth it because the lines were so short. Two of the most popular rollercoasters were Silver Star and Blue Fire. With speeds of 143km/h, it is no wonder that the Silver Star had students riding it over and over again!
