As I always say: " The SLO^® and the SLTC are heaven on earth", it changed me forever, I am now a can do person and i can make a difference in my society. I am grateful for having such a great opportunity. 

Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

International Preparatory Academy, Detroit - USA

IPA Student Life Organization's Social Responsibility Department and SLO^® Gems Club recognized Breast Cancer Awareness by hosting a door decorating contest and a Breast Cancer Awareness Program. The keynote speaker for the program was a breast cancer survivor and police officer of the Detroit Police Department. She reminded student to keep their heads up and always give back. The program culminated with a march around the school.

Mustang Games

International Preparatory Academy - Detroit - USA

In order to help prepare students for their Final Exams, the SLO^® organized the first ever Mustang Games for grades 3 to 8. These games aim to test the students' knowledge in core subjects such as Math, English, Science and Social Studies.

These games consisted of 3 rounds.  In the first and third rounds, 5 randomly selected students represented their class in an academic challenge consisting of questions from the Final Revision packets. Contestants have three lifelines:

- Call a Friend
- Call a Teacher
- Ask the Class (to keep the entire class engaged)

The second round  consisted of physical challenges such as balancing chocolate cakes on forehead to test balance and concentration.
