Sports Tournament
International School of Choueifat - Lahore
Grades 5-12
November 29, 2014
Drama, action, suspense, victory, and defeat; the inter-house tournament of ISC-Lahore was a week rife with all of these and so much more. The tournament, organized by the SABIS Student Life Organization®, took place in the fifth week of this academic year. All students took part in the tournament charged with enough energy to almost be palpable, whether it was as actual participants or supporters. Everything from swimming to cricket was on the program, being carefully embedded into the after-school activity schedule.
Thanks to the efforts of the SLO®’s Sports and Health Department, and coaches the event was a great success.
Spelling Bee
International School of Choueifat - Lahore
Grades 3-6
November 09, 2014After many weeks of arduous preparation for our young students, spelling bee for AY 2104-15 was held from Nov.9th to Nov.18th.
An initial warm-up round was conducted to give the competitors a chance to familiarize themselves with the working of the Spelling Bee. Students were tested on words taken from the vocabulary of their respective grades and they were amazing. Knockout rounds were held until only three contestants remained from each grade. These students competed in a final round leading to a winner from each grade.
Buddy System
International School of Choueifat - City of 6 October
Grades 4-7
February 03, 2015The purpose of this activity is to help children who don’t have friends develop the social skills needed to make new friends, and to make sure they are not alone during lunch and break times.
The idea came about when grade 12 prefects noticed that there were younger students wandering around the school without friends during break time. The prefects sent out special invitations with chocolate attached to those students, so that they can meet up during lunch for a “secret meeting.” During lunch, the seniors would help students develop their talents and social skills, which would then help them stand out amongst their classmates. For example, they set up art classes and tutored the children if they were having troubles academically. Not only that, but they also acted as friends to the children and counseled them when they were facing difficulties on a social level. The main purpose of the activity was to put a smile on a child’s face and make him/her feel loved, because some of the children who are lonely develop into unhappy and depressed teens.

Habitat for Humanity
International School of Choueifat - Amman
Grade 10
December 13, 2014
In December, a group of tenth-grade students went on a two-day trip to “Um Qais” on a mission in association with “Habitat for Humanity - Jordan”. There, they helped complete the rooms of a house for a village young man and his new wife. Over two days, students worked tirelessly to complete a rewarding job , by mixing the concrete with their hands, constructing walls, and putting down floor tiles.
The trip was not all about hard work though. At the end of the physically-demanding day, students played fun games, had a wonderful village dinner with their local hosts, and of course spent hours and hours of singing and having fun.
