The Sarwaran International School came up with a very creative idea to ensure all students learn their multiplication tables "One Step At A Time" but using their stairs as the means to convey the information.
The ideal was quickly adopted by other schools including Suleimaniah International School as it allowed students to be reminded of what they should know at all times.

Mini-Camp
ISC - Dubai Investment Park
October 17, 2014
The 1st ever SLO® Mini Camp for ISC-DIP was held on October 16th and 17th, 2014.
Prefects participated in a range of training sessions to improve their contribution to the school and SLO®. They covered a wide range of lectures such as communication skills, teamwork, and positive thinking. Added to the training sessions were team building activites to strengthen the bonds among prefects. An exciting activity was drumming which taught participants teamwork and coordination. Following that a team sticker activity got the teams going for the treasure hunt which involved critical thinking, problem solving, and teamwork.
Overall the camp was an enlightening experience. It helped the participants walk away with a deeper understanding of how to inspire and encourage others and how to help students achieve success by teaching key characteristics, like being positive, choosing your attitude, and recognizing “the power” exists within each one of them.

The SLCs and SMCs of all the PPP (Private Public Partnerships) schools in Kurdistan converged to Erbil for a 2 days training on new Student Management techniques.
The training was divided in 2 parts - The first day was devoted to explaining the principles of Student Management, teaching skills to deal with the students and different behaviors followed by a session on The Power of Positive Thinking. The second day was exclusively targeted to the SLCs with a training on the SLO® AMPS.
I learned to treat students better and now I feel that I love my job much more than before, I have been motivated due to attending this training.
