Inspiration and Motivation Project
In order to bring all the schools together in a single project, The "Inspiration and Motivation" project was created requesting each school to get the prefects to research inspirational stories, articles, YouTube clips, books, newspaper articles, etc. and select the one that would best represent the school to share it with all our schools worldwide on a weekly basis.
Prefects create a detailed write up along with each submission, analyzing why they found the story inspirational or motivational, and what we can learn from it in order to give some talking points to the other schools.
This project is headed by the Sunshine sub-department of the Outreach department and taps into all prefects (not limited to the Sunshine prefects) to research which inspirational and motivational story they want to share with the SABIS network.
These stories might be used in Advising if approved and will give everyone more ideas to share with their entire school.
Thanks a lot everyone and enjoy this project.

What failure can teach us
ISC - City of 6 October

The article shows us how failure is not the end of the road but, the beginning of a new outlook. It opens our eyes to the difference between an action and a person. If we fail at something, that just means that we failed at it. It doesn’t mean that we are a failure. We always have the option of learning and trying again.

Smile Campaign
ISC - Amman
September 11, 2013
Shortly after the academic year had started, the Outreach Department Prefects of ISC – Amman planned a “Smile!” campaign for their fellow students and teachers. The idea was simple – to make as many students and teachers smile and spread joy around them.
The SLO® prefects worked hard prior to the event, making hundreds of smiley-faces and taping a piece of candy to the back of every smiley-face. On Wednesday, September 11th, the prefects went around the school during their free time and lunch-time break to give away the smiley-faces to all students from grades 4 to 12.
It was a simple gesture that the students loved and appreciated. The students could not stop thanking the prefects for the cards and it was clear from the smiles on the photos taken that the project was a success. It was also amazing to see how some students wanted to pay this kindness forward and they took smiley-faces for their friends who were absent that day. This helped the prefects achieve their goal of making sure that all students get a smiley face.
The teachers and school staff were also visited by the “joyful” prefects which definitely made their day.
“Sometimes, little acts like this, with simple tools like a yellow cardboard, a pair of scissors and a candy, are enough to make a big difference. It doesn’t always have to be a huge project” – Aya Tabbalat, Deputy Head Prefect, Outreach Department.

May 09, 2014At the International School of Choueifat, Choueifat, the student body was not about to let their grade 12 students graduate in peace. They had to go out in a bang.

The stairs and the surrounding area was decorated with balloons and looked beautiful.
When the 12th graders showed up, there were blindsided by well wishers, cheering them on, singing for them, applauding their efforts and encouraging them forward. Many prefects held posters with nice messages on them and proudly held them above their heads.
