Paris Cultural Trip
International School of Choueifat - Lahore
Grades 7 - 11
January 05, 2015

Paris is a metropolis particularly distinguished for its rich history, art and culture. Twenty-one students, two French teachers, and the SLO coordinator went there to discover a new city. This journey was an experience of a lifetime.
Despite the flight being delayed, they reached Paris in high spirits and were straight away treated with the grand tour of Paris by bus. The tour took them by the Eiffel Tower, the Opera House, the bridge of Alexander the third, the Obelisk, the Grand Palais, and the Arc de Triomphe. After the tour, they strolled on the well-known Champs Elysées and climbed on the top of the Arc de Triomphe. For the next few days, they visited the Eiffel Tower, went on a picturesque boat cruise on the river Seine, walked through the Gardens of Luxemburg, the Pantheon and the prestigious University of Sorbonne, not forgetting the famous Notre Dame. The group also went to the amazing Louvre where they were treated to some breathtaking paintings such as the Raft of the Medusa and Liberty Leading the People, statues, artifacts and of course the distinguished Mona Lisa. Disneyland Paris was certainly on the agenda. It was a very entertaining experience and going in the space mountain was a blast. A Paris visit is not complete for a SABIS® school wihout discovering the Cité des Sciences et de L’industrie. where they witnessed some exotic fish, a shape-shifting car, and watched a documentary about French Polynesia at the Geode, a planetarium dome-like cinema. The last day was spent at Palace of Versailles admiring the architecture, the hall of mirrors and the gardens.
Creating memories, learning about other cultures, and making new friends are vital in a person’s life and that is exactly what has happened during this trip. It was a trip of a lifetime.
