Just before the Eid Holiday, prefects distributed smiley face badges to younger grades. Greeted with a cheerful “Eid Mubarak!” the children’s faces lit up as they received a smiley face. It was an enjoyable way to bring out sweet, innocent giggles. Younger kids crowded around the prefects, picking out their favorite colors and designs.
Everyone goofed around, posing for pictures and trading badges, grateful for the simple, yet joyous distraction. The smiles on their faces were priceless. It was a heart-warming sight to see what little it takes to amuse them. Genuine joy was spread around. It was the perfect way to end a long, stressful week, and embark on the week-long Eid Holiday.

The job fair is a highly anticipated event that happens at the beginning of each year at the International School of Choueifat, Sharjah. It is an exhibition that is intended to give students an opportunity to help create a better image for the school and to personally develop their own social skills. Each department explains to interested students the specifics and details about what they would have to do to help the school and the advantages that the students themselves would experience.
The students learnt about the sub-departments in each department and the goals they had set at the beginning of the school year.” When asked about the expectations surrounding the entire event, Deputy Head of Management, Yousef, answered, “It surpassed our expectations. We were impressed with the number of students who wanted to help.”
The Job Fair is designed to be informative and educational where we aim to discuss the enjoyable aspects that attract students. This then allows the students to develop their own personalities and enhance themselves both academically and socially.
Creating Cupcakes

On Saturday January 21st, 2017 the SABIS Student Life Organization® organized a creating cupcakes fun day for KG students. Students started with prebaked cupcakes and 4 different color frosting (Yellow, Pink, Blue and Green). The students had 4 different toppings such as canned fruits, m & m, colored rainbow sprinkles. Then once they finished decorating they enjoy their cupcakes.
The students were so excited to decorate their own cupcake and once they started putting the frosting, you could see big smiles on their faces. The students were concentrating so hard to put the decorations on that they didn’t notice anyone around them. One student decorated the cupcake and then said: “this is for my dad” and she went and gave it to him. Once finished decorating, they students started eating their cupcakes with a juice.
Coloring Stones

On Saturday, January 14th, 2017, Grade 2 students had fun coloring stones in the cafeteria. Each student was given 3 stones. The stones were put on a paper plate, with different size paint brushes and they had 6 different colors to decorate the stones. The students were provided with designed rock samples that were done by SLO® a day before. Also there were printed pictures with different design available to the students to use.
With big smiles, the students loved painting the stones and they kept asking for more stones to color. They enjoyed the craft time with their peers. Their stones and photos of the activity will be displayed in the Reception area of the school for the parents and visitors to view all their lovely efforts. Thereafter, the students may use the stones as gifts to teachers for paper holders or they can use it to decorate their rooms.
