Mini-Camp

International School of Choueifat - Lahore

Grades 9 - 12

On Saturday September 05, 2015, the SLO^® organized this year’s first Mini Camp. It was organized to impart qualities like leadership and teambuilding among our students. These are necessary to succeed not only in school, but in life as well. The most proactive students from grades 9 to 12 were invited to attend the camp, with the total number of attendees reaching over 80 students.

The day started with an introduction from the SLC, Mr. Abdullah, and an ice breaking activity. After a short break, the students reconvened in the library hall and the Director, Ms. Margo Abdel Aziz gave an inspirational speech on the prerequisites of leadership. Her speech was followed by the Heads Ceremony, where a brand new set of leaders was chosen for leadership positions in the SLO^®. Our newly-appointed Head Boy Rehan Hafeez along with Rabia Akber delivered a wonderful take on perspective and adapting to the ever changing challenges.  Throughout the day the students participated in creative activities.  The day was rounded up by Osman Khan, head of Management Department and Iqraa Bukhari with their presentation called “The Energy Bus”. After a fun day filled with learning, activities and lunch, the young leaders went home to brainstorm for new ideas for the SLO^®.

Bake Sale

International School of Choueifat - Suleimaniah

Grades KG - 10

In order to honor a friend who passed away this past summer due to cancer, the grade 9 students decided to raise money through a bake sale and donate the proceeds to the Children’s Cancer Hospital.

Students brought cookies, brownies, custard cakes and homemade treats to the SLO^® and during the lunch break the KG teachers brought their students to the bake sale, bought treats and explained to them the purpose of the charity event. After the KG students left, eveyone else was admitted to purchase and partake in all the delicious treats available on that day.2400$ was raised.

Hat Day

International School of Choueifat - Suleimaniah

Grades 1 - 5

A hat day was planned by the SLO^® with the goal being to encourage all students to be as creative as they can by decorating a hat.

Grade 1 up to Grade 5 students brought their hats to school and were very excited to display their handiwork as well as checking out everyone else's hats.

A contest was held to choose the best 3 hats and it created a wonderful atmosphere on that particular day.

Traffic Awareness

Zakho International School, Kurdistan - Iraq

Grades: KG

The students were given a presentation about traffic rules, and road signs by a traffic officer. They also had the opportunity to ride cars and bikes, and drive on designed ‘traffic roads that had traffic signs on them with the help of two police officers and the Activity Department prefects.
