Handover Ceremony
ISC - Choueifat
September 25, 2014The Handover Ceremony is a memorable and emotional event for the SLO® at Choueifat. It is the passing of the baton between the outgoing SLO® Management Team and the incoming one.
Students, teachers and administrators crowded the SLO® office to watch a movie created by the prefects describing “The SLO® Magic in the Air”. Following the movie and to the sound of applause the new prefects went up to the boards to pin their names under their newly assigned positions. Amongt the audience were several previous head prefects, who took time off from their university to get back to their alma mater to honor the new SLO® team.
Every new Deputy Head prefect and the Head Prefect received a token key for their department as well as a congratulatory letter.

Flood Relief Campaign
ISC - Lahore
September 29, 2014In order to ease the pain due to the disaster floods ravaging Pakistan, the SLO® at ISC Lahore hosted a flood relief campaign to gather donations for the afflicted. The campaign was divided in two parts, phase one and phase two.
Phase one included general donations by students, fundraising events, and a raffle ticket prize for 2 nano iPods which were donated by one of our students. The raffle tickets idea was extremely appealing to students and helped raise a lot of money for donations.
Phase two was a clothes and supplies drive. A letter was sent to parents listing the necessary supplies needed to help displaced people by the floods.
Over the course of one week 200,000 Ruppees (around $2,000/-) was raised and a large amount of dry foods and clothes was collected. The funds were transferred to the flood victims through the Eidhi foundation, the representatives of which came to collect the funds from school.
The campaign was a huge success and the school is proud to have made a difference in the lives of those who need it most.

Mini-Camp in Flint
International Academy of Flint
September 27, 2014International Academy of Flint’s Student Life Mini Camp was better than any of us could imagine. Prefects and staff headed to Soaring Eagle Water Park for a memorable weekend of training, brainstomring and bonding.
Friendships were made, barriers were tore down and courage zones expanded. Training Presentations began at 6:00 pm on Friday evening with the Shake It Up icebreaker to get the group going followed by the Iron Will movie that genuinely touched the hearts of all presents. Saturday morning witnessed the heavy-duty sessions starting with the Fish! Philosophy, followed by Overcoming Your Fears, and then by Conversational Jenga. This game really got our group to talk to one another. After lunch The Energy Bus was presented and discussed.
Students and staff truly developed a new outlook on life. They all embraced a positive energy to benefit their school upon their return. The positive energy of the camp was contagious and will be nurtured to grow throughout the school for the remainder of the year.
