STUDENT LIFE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

The International School of Choueifat - Dubai, UAE

January 24, 2026

The International School of Choueifat - Dubai hosted its Student Life Leadership Conference at the School Theatre, bringing together SLO prefects from Grades 7 to 12 for a full day of leadership development, collaboration, and team-building.

The Leadership Conference at ISC - Dubai was designed to strengthen the values that shape effective student leadership, including responsibility, integrity, communication, teamwork, and initiative. Through structured sessions, discussions, and interactive activities, prefects reflected on their roles within the Student Life Organization and explored practical ways to lead by example and contribute positively to school life.

A special highlight of the conference was the participation of Majd Bahloul, last year’s Head Prefect of the Student Life Organization, who took the time to attend, present, and engage with students before beginning his journey at Harvard University. Majd delivered the presentation “Leadership Is Everyone’s Business,” emphasizing that leadership is demonstrated through everyday actions, shared responsibility, and teamwork.

The conference also featured a presentation by Arifa Ismayilova, the Head Prefect of the Student Life Organization for this year, titled “Prefect Meaning.” Her session focused on the true purpose and responsibility of being a prefect, reinforcing that student leaders represent the school’s values through consistent conduct, service, and positive influence.

The conference concluded with a final presentation delivered by our SLC, Mr. Halim Oukrid, titled “Do Hard Things.” The session encouraged prefects to step beyond their comfort zones and approach leadership with courage and accountability, emphasizing that meaningful leadership demands resilience, consistent effort, and a willingness to take responsibility in challenging situations.

The Student Life Leadership Conference at The International School of Choueifat – Dubai was a valuable opportunity for prefects to learn, connect, and strengthen their leadership mindset. ISC-Dubai looks forward to building on the outcomes of this event and continuing to invest in student leadership development throughout the year.

To train SLO prefects across all nine departments by sharing the knowledge and experiences gained from the global SLTC in Greece.

The MINI SLTC was a focused training event for SLO prefects, designed to inspire leadership and innovation within the school. Prefects who attended the SLTC in Greece shared their experiences, offering valuable insights into effective strategies, team-building techniques, and creative initiatives. This collaborative platform allowed all prefects to learn, exchange ideas, and strengthen their roles in their respective departments, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.

Fatima Nasr (Parent): The SLO (student life organization) offers many great experiences for all the children. My daughter and her friends were selected for the SLO mini conference and thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend encouraging your kids to participate in SLO.

Abdulla Hashem (Student): The Mini SLTC at our school was an inspiring and insightful experience. It gave us a clear understanding of what the prefects who attended the SLTC in Greece learned and how we can apply those lessons in our roles. The training sessions were practical and engaging, helping us better understand our responsibilities in each department.
