Nursing Home Visit

International School of Choueifat - Koura

Grades 8 - 10

In order to enrich the bonding between our students and the elders of the community our Koura students visited nursing homes in the neighboring area and planned fun activities and helped the residents with their lunch, and sang for them. Before leaving, students gave the scarves as a gift from the SLO prefects.

House Renovation Campaign

Abdulaziz International School - Girl Section

Grades 5 - 12

A year of hard work paid off: Girls of Social Responsibility Department successfully raised enough money through Bake Sales and many fund raising events to refurbish, renovate houses and supply some basic food necessities to the impoverished families living in the underdeveloped area of Riyadh. The prefects worked in liaison with Al Boniyan Charitable Society which provided them with a list of deserving families entitled to receive the goodwill.

This House Renovation Project was an experience like no other undertaking. It was through this phenomenal assignment that students realized not to take anything for granted and always appreciate what they have. It was both a heart-warming and an eye-opening experience to know that school students can make a difference in peoples’ lives.

Plant for the Planet

International School of Choueifat - Amman

Grades: 6 - 12

ISC Amman students have always been advocates of nature.

Attempting to further their achievements in what SABIS^® Student Life Organization^® defined as “The Green Initiative” sub-department, a devoted group of 30 students took part in the planting of 150 Cypress seedlings in “Balila” near “Jarash”.

As students worked under the mercifully mild sky, they became one with the earth, and all the while enjoying themselves and having a great time. At the end of the day, students were able to lodge their shovels into the dirt, and look forward to the day in four or five years when they will come to this very spot and, in all the literal sense of the word, reap their rewards.

Tree Planting and Cleaning

International School of Choueifat - Dream City

Grade 3

The SLO^® launched a Tree Planting and Cleaning Campaign on Saturday May 2, 2015. The project was supported by the Erbil governor Mr. Nawzad Hadi. The aim of this project is to instill awareness amongst students regarding the importance of keeping the environment clean and green. 

The students were transported by school busses to ISC- Erbil to plant trees and to learn how to keep the environment green and clean. Students were given plastic bags and gloves to clean the environment around the school. After cleaning up, each student was given one tree to plant and they listened to a talk about keeping the environment clean and green in future.
